Community Park Rangers
The Imperial Beach Community Park Rangers are a dedicated team of men and women that support the departments goal of Creating Community Through Parks and Recreation. Easily recognizable in their uniforms the Community Park Rangers provide both residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a safe and enjoyable park environment through positive community relations.
The Park Rangers ensure patrons' safety by conducting patrols of parks, trails, recreation facilities, and beach areas across the city. While patrolling Imperial Beach outdoor recreation locations, Park Rangers inspect City property and equipment, advise patrons of City policies and ordinances, and answer park-goers' questions regarding parks and facility reservations. In addition to their typical day to day duties, Community Park Rangers also assist throughout the year at City-wide special events to ensure everyone has a memorable experience.
Junior Ranger Badge
Park Rangers will give these special badges to our young park visitors when we see them being good park stewards and helping enforce park rules. Picking up trash or walking your dog on a leash are just a few thing's you could do to keep your park safe and fun while earning a Junior Ranger Badge.
Our Park Rangers are actively involved in the Imperial Beach park communities. You may see them helping some of our volunteer groups during park and beach clean-ups and also doing outreach to our community members that are currently experiencing homelessness. Make sure to say hello if you see the Community Rangers out and about in Imperial Beach.
